Diagnosed with autism variant Asperger’s syndrome, Ben is hardly a typical adolescent. He never speaks, save to his long-suffering, divorced mother and a little brother. Bullied at school, Ben’s only solace is the time spent playing sword-and-sorcery game Overlord, where he can be the fearless hero. The film ambitiously takes on three difficult themes - schoolroom bullying, autism and the influence of computer games on those who play them - and turns these issues into a fascinating story.
